Implemented Kalman filter algorithm for data processing in ocean acoustic tomography and estimation of the 3-D temperature field in the ocean.
Performed data statistical analysis and numerical simulation of ocean acoustic tomography with drifting receivers in order to detect Rossby waves and global climate trend.
Developed a new method of TOPEX-Poseidon satellite data processing, which provided spatio-temporal 2-D spectra of oceanic wave turbulence - internal gravity waves, and Rossby waves.
Carried out a numerical analyses of the sea state bias for satellite altimetry.
Investigated a mechanism of seiches excitation in harbors by near-shore currents.
Developed analytical theory of the surface waves spectrum evolution, caused by drift flow turbulence.
Discovered Rossby-wave radiative force effect on moving vortices.
Developed analytical theory of surface and internal gravity waves scattering by localized vortices.
Investigated the amplification mechanism of sound and internal gravity waves, scattered at a viscous vortex.
Discovered the effect of wave resonant amplification by a vortex in the ideal fluid.
Analyzed the mechanism of internal gravity waves amplification in the critical layer of a shear flow.

Created a powerful electromagnetic resonant generator of low-frequency sound in the atmosphere.
Created a radio-acoustical sounding system with short radio waves, reaching the heights up to 4 - 5 km.
Invented a method of radio-acoustical sounding with modulated microwave signal.
Investigated feasibility of a stratospheric-tropospheric radio-acoustical sounding system (STRASS).
Performed analytical analysis and experimental studies of sound scattering by moving vortices.
Invented a method of acoustic diagnostic for coherent structures in fluid flows.
Discovered the resonant mechanism of sound amplification in supersonic shear flows.
Developed analytical theory of sound generation in flutes and organ pipes.

Nonlinear waves and chaos in dynamic systems:

Discovered jumps of spatial dimension for the phase transition "weak-strong turbulence" in the complex Ginzburg-Landau equation.
Analyzed modulational instability and found chaotic spiral structures for waves in anisotropic non-equilibrium media.
Discovered the phenomenon of chaotic self-modulation for waves in dissipative non-equilibrium media.
Performed analytical and numerical analysis of the three-mode model for modulational decay of a harmonic wave in a non-equilibrium system (Rabinovich-Fabrikant equations).
Discovered the effect of the nonlinear adiabatic spectral evolution of a wave packet (envelope soliton) in dissipative medium.
Developed analytical theory for parametric decay of a growing wave into dissipating sub-harmonics.
Analyzed shock electromagnetic waves in strongly magnetized vacuum.
Discovered a new mechanism of parametric decay for electromagnetic waves in magnetized vacuum.
